Med Surge Nurse

 

St. Michael's Elite Hospital, located at the corner of Hwy 6 and the Southwest Freeway in the beautiful community of Sugar Land, Texas, is looking for Med Surg Nurses who are highly motivated, passionate about customer service driven healthcare, and exceeding patients' expectations. 

 

Job Duties

 

As a Med Surg Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering concierge quality patient care while administering physician ordered plan-of-care.  You will work collaboratively with the physician and the patient to meet the individual care needs of each patient. As a Med Surg Nurse, you will utilize your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on care needs and illness prevention.

The St. Michael's Elite Hospital Med Surg Nurses will be responsible for monitoring patients' conditions and assessing their needs, providing reports to the on-site physician as the patients' conditions change, administering patients' medication and providing treatment according to physicians' orders. As with each of our team members, you will be responsible for fostering an environment of best-in-class customer service and compassion to our patients and their families.

Ideal candidate will have ER experience and/or willing to cross train.

 

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

 

  • Current State of Texas RN License
  • BLS/Health Care Providers CPR
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • Food Handler's License
  • Specialty Certification - CRN, CNOR, CEN (preferred)  

 

Education and/or Experience

 

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
  • At least 2 years of recent med surg experience;
  • Maintain skills and knowledge in the advancement of techniques and protocols;
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest trends in the field of expertise;
  • In good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing.

 

 

Language Skills

                                             

  • Ability to read and write in English and to analyze and interpret written company policies, manuals, protocols and/or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports in a concise and organized manner.  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, managers, patients, peer employees, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills

                                               

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area and volume.
  • Able to calculate figures and numbers related to the field of Nursing.

 

Reasoning Ability

                                              

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Computer Skills

                                              

  • Basic computer skills required.
